PRP = Platelet Rich Plasma.
PRP Skin Rejuvenation is an innovative skin treatment that has been scientifically proven to refresh, tone and tighten the skin by repairing the elasticity, colour and quality of the skin.
PRP uses your body’s own rejuvenating properties to initiate a local stem cell response, which helps build new collagen, elastin and blood vessels. This process helps to repair and regenerate damaged skin for a healthier and more refreshed appearance with minimal downtime.
Using natural substances to rejuvenate damaged skin.
We begin the PRP treatment by taking the client’s blood and placing it in a specialised centrifuge device. From here, we extract the most nutrient rich properties (the platelets and plasma), then use superficial injections to place these natural substances back into the skin or area of concern. These platelets release important growth factors, which instruct other cells on what work needs to be done (e.g. form new collagen) and help to treat a wide range of concerns.
The treatment has been gaining popularity around the world within the last few years. The use of PRP is a great treatment option for hair loss/ thinning hair, both for Men as well as Women. It has a number of scientifically based articles showing its efficacy increasing hair count, hair thickness, and the growth phase of the hair cycle.
It might sound scary (blood draws and needles?!), but for the most part, there is no real risk associated with PRP.
Anyone experiencing hair loss is essentially a good candidate for PRP treatments, but those with early hair loss tend to respond best.
PRP is best used for people with androgenic alopecia, which is a genetically determined type of hair thinning that typically occurs along the top of the head. In women, this might look like a widening part with normal hair thickness at the back of the head.
For best results, consistency is key. Treatments are typically performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter, depending on the individual client response and results. Following this protocol, anticipated results can first be seen within two to three months.
The first result that client usually note is decreased hair shedding, followed by early regrowth and increased length of hair. The general consensus is that receiving treatments every three to six months on a long-term basis are optimal for continuing to stimulate the growth factors and stem cells that are associated with regrowth and stopping hair fallout.
It’s important to keep in mind that PRP can, and should, be a part of a multifaceted program to treat hair thinning and loss. Topical treatments, like over-the-counter minoxidil treatments and supplements can also be used for best results.
Let’s work together to see the changes you deserve.
Depending on the size of the area, along with the desired results, we recommend three to six treatments at four to six weekly intervals.
As with normal medical guidelines, a healthy diet, minimal caffeine and alcohol and adequate sleep will allow your body the best chance for a good outcome. We also recommend following our pre and post treatment guidelines.
For clients treating hair loss, please be aware that the PRP application is not a “quick fix” and is meant to be used as part of a comprehensive hair rejuvenation program supervised by your GP, specialist or dedicated hair clinic. Individual clients will progress at different rates depending on their age, general health, baseline condition of your skin and hair and the period since the hair loss first occurred.
